The travellers cross the rain-slicked cobbles of the Champs-Élysées, umbrellas raised and raincoats buttoned against the weather. Behind them glow the red awnings of Fouquet's, the famous café, beneath a Pioneer sign on the corner. Wet paving and 1970s cars complete the grey, glistening scene.
